Stopped by for a beer with my dogs

Stopped by for a beer with my dogs after backpacking Mt. Rogers for three days last Friday afternoon/evening. Megan the bartender took great care of me. The later stopped by for dinner and another beer and met Doug who was an awesome host. The food was amazing, the beer cold and the atmosphere perfect. Lots of new ideas coming (back patio, upstairs pool tables, etc). Already looking forward to the next visit. Forgot to mention the music. Top notch Blues. What’s not to like.

Hill Billy Philly was delicious…

Neat BBQ place in what appears to be an old hardware store…at least the old lettering above the place said “Hardware”. We ended up parking in the back off the main street and cutting thru an alley to get to the front. The Hill Billy Philly was delicious… Made with tender chopped brisket, smoked gouda, peppers and onions on a toasted sub. Came with homemade crinkle cut chips. Service was on point, with a guy who I think was the owner, helping wait on us with refills. Everyone in our riding group enjoyed it. Highly recommend.

best she’d ever had

Very, very good bar-b-que. My wife said her bar-b-que chicken sandwich was the best she’d ever had. I tried The Hog specialty sandwich which was very good. Both of our sandwiches came with house-made potato chips which were good. The restaurant is inside an old hardware store and is nicely decorated on the inside. Good atmosphere. There’s a small sign in a front window (they need a bigger, better sign).
